Yes. Yesterday blipped. It took longer to write this piece than anticipated and once I was on Track One – I needed to keep going to the end. Jumping tracks just causes a devastating crash.

ABA is a touchy subject – and polarising. But it needs to be talked about. Information and knowledge needs to be spread.

No one is a bad person or a stupid person for not having the right information or even for not knowing you don’t have the right information. Nobody can know everything about everything.

For most of us, including myself, autism was a tiny blip in the distance of our landscape until it was forcibly rammed into the middle of our lives. And it’s not like the professionals are that well-informed either or sharing accurate and up-to-date information.

And most of us are so up to our necks in just getting through day by day, we don’t have the luxury or capacity to deep dive at the level to truly understand what is going on.

I wasn’t born knowing what I know. I didn’t even know much when I started recognising my own autistic experience. It took four years of focused deep diving for me to get here – and I am still only scratching the surface and learning new things every day.

So, please, read this post in the spirit in which it was intended. Passing on of knowledge without judgement.
